Canada-The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) arrested four people on Wednesday in connection with a violent attack that occurred the day before near Mont-Bruno Secondary School.
The SPAL took action due to the circulation of a video in which we see a 16-year-old migrant boy hitting another teenager who would be in secondary school. The alleged attacker was suspended by the school.
“Quickly, the police were able to arrest four suspects because, precisely, the evidence was already available in terms of video, but we also collected and continue to collect testimonies in this investigation,” explained the SPAL spokesperson, Ghyslain Vallières.
On the video footage, of which Noovo Info obtained a copy, we can see the victim kneel before receiving at least five punches in the face while other young people look on. According to information obtained by Noovo Info, the altercation occurred after events that occurred on a bus. Teenagers accused the attacked young man of trying to remove the hijab of a young Muslim woman. The alleged attackers would subsequently have wanted to avenge her.
The four suspects in connection with the events could face charges of assault causing harm and false imprisonment.
