A family-of-two is told to hand over $1,000 by a cartel in northern Mexico so that they can continue their trip after driving across from the United States.
The incident reportedly took place on a road in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, last Thursday and was recorded on one of the victims' cellphone while they were briefly sequestered by a man, who identifies himself as a member of the Cartel of the Northeast.
The male driver immediately tells his son that they being stopped by 'la maña,' a Spanish slang term for cartel.
