There seems to be plenty of blame to go around to why this kid who seems to be a grade-A loser in school is being held back a grade. The school seems to have taken a soft approach to him failing dozens of classes and being late or absent hundreds of times in 3 years. But where was his mother? Did she never ask for his grades? Did she never ask what his lessons were and what he was learning?
This seems like the formula to why so many black kids can't read, write, or do basic mathematics in so many school systems.
