LAHORE: A woman was allegedly pushed down from the rooftop of her house by her husband and his parents for not cooking food `properly` in Gulshan-e-Ravi area here on Friday.
Identified as Maryam, the woman suffered head and neck injuries and was rushed to hospital where her condition was stated to be critical.
On being informed of the incident, the police rushed to the scene and launched an inquiry.
Police sources say that in her statement, which has been made part of the first information report (FIR) registered against her husband Shahzad and his parents, she said that her spouse got enraged over the lack of spice in the `chicken Karahi` she had prepared for lunch. As she argued that spicy food was not good for his health, Shahzad exchanged hot words with her and started beating her.
She alleged that Shahzad was joined by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, and they pushed her down in the street from the upper story of the house with the intention to kill her.
The police claim that none of the suspects has so far been taken into custody.
