A 16-year-old teenage who recently became a father died after a head-on crash with a 67-year-old woman driving the wrong way on a major California highway at 3 a.m.
California Highway Patrol reported that the 67-year-old woman was driving her Honda Civic the wrong way at 75-80mph on Interstate 5 in southern California on April 10.
She collided head-on with a Dodge Challenger driven by a 16-year-old 10th-grader at Mar Vista High School and a teenage father.
The Dodge Challenger caught fire, and both drivers became trapped in their cars before dying at the scene.
Her neighbor said that she had been undergoing cancer radiation treatment and sometimes was forgetful.
'Sometimes, she went south, you know, kind of blank-minded and just take off.'
