South Africa- It has been two years since Len Cloete from Pretoria was shot and seriously injured in an altercation with the police.
Cloete was with his wife, Chantal, and friends at a hotel in Muldersdrift on 13 November 2021 when he was shot.
According to reports the investigation is still pending, two years after the incident.
A video in which he can be seen getting involved in an argument with the police was widely shared on social media at the time.
He suffered brain damage and, as a result, is in a wheelchair. He also cannot speak and receives nutrition through a tube.
A fight broke out, and the police were called.
Len, the father of seven, was shot in the head by a police officer in front of his wife and friends.
In a video of the incident that has gone viral on social media, a naked Len is seen shouting at the police. He takes a firearm out of the bed drawer and cocks it while swinging it around in front of the police officers.
Len is then seen grabbing a firearm for a police officer.
Another police officer at the scene fires a single shot and hits Cloete in the head. He falls to the ground.
