Jiu Jitsu employee takes down a suspected car thief and quickly puts him in a chokehold after being attacked by the man in Indianapolis.
Jiu Jitsu is awesome.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blue belt and gym employee Gavin Archer confronted a man after he saw him peeking into cars outside the gym.
After he confronted him, the man lunged at Archer. Big mistake.
The 18-year-old quickly took the man to the ground before putting him in a chokehold and carrying him off.
The man who attacked Archer, Andrew Wilkerson, claims he worked at a car shop nearby and was "trying to use keys" to get into the car outside.
It's unclear what exactly he was doing however the video clearly shows him lunging at Archer.
"Due to G's years of martial arts and Jiu Jitsu training, he was able to minimize the strikes that were being throw at him by judo tossing the man to the ground, securing the man's back, and choking him unconscious to eliminate the immediate threat of danger so he could call the police," an instructor at the gym posted online.
"THIS is why Jiu Jitsu saves lives. Imagine if G had no training at all when this man attacked him. He could be seriously hurt or dead."
