Former teacher found guilty after duct-taping a student with Down Syndrome to a chair and laughing at him.
27-year-old Rachel Smith was found guilty of unlawful restraint & two counts of endangering children.
The victim was strapped to the chair for about 5 minutes and had begged to be let out.
The parents of the 15-year-old victim say that he has limited speaking abilities and uses his hands to help communicating.
“We sent him to school to make sure he’s not bullied and we wouldn’t have expected it from the teachers,” they said.
Allison Vestring, who was accused of taping the victim, was sentenced to 5 years of community service.
Smith, who was the one filming, will be sentenced on October 2.
