Belize- A man was hit by a vehicle while trying to rescue a Teju guasu on the road. The incident occurred in the city of San Ignacio, Department of Misiones.
The tragic accident occurred on Route PY04 , when Luis Ricardo Coronel was run over while trying to save a Teju guasu that was in the middle of the road. The man got out of his vehicle to help the animal, but at that moment he was violently hit by a blue Toyota IST car, driven by Mirtha Tereza Delgado.
The impact was so strong that Coronel was dragged several meters along with the reptile until he fell onto the asphalt.
The video shared on social media shows the exact moment of the accident, which left the victim with serious injuries. After this, the man was rushed to the San Ignacio District Hospital and, due to the severity of his condition, he was referred to the Trauma Hospital in Asunción to receive specialized care.
