Officer shoots and kills a 6’5”, 330-pound ‘woman’ who attacked him with a knife during a mental health welfare check in Virginia.
The officer went to check on 33-year-old Sydney Wilson after a mental health professional reported she was agitated.
When the officer arrived, Wilson opened the door but then quickly closed it.
After a couple of minutes, Wilson opened the door again and attacked the officer with a knife.
The officer fired, and Wilson was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The officer is a 14-year veteran of the Reston Patrol District.
He suffered non-life-threatening injuries
