AUSTIN, Texas - Austin police are conducting a homicide investigation after an altercation between two people escalated into a deadly shooting in North Austin.
The incident happened in the 900 block of East Braker Lane at around 1:40 a.m. in a parking lot in the area.
The owner of Michelobos, a business in the area, tells FOX 7 Austin that the incident began as an altercation between two women.
Video revealed what happened during the shooting.
"They're young, dumb and with guns. That's what it is," the man who recorded the video said. "I was recording the fight, but then once I saw stuff escalate, that's when I really started to record and zoom in."
At some point, the altercation escalated to a shooting between two men.
The man said he saw the transfer of a gun from one man to another.
"His friend was not trying to let him get the gun at first, but then he just snatched it out of his homeboy’s hand and that's when everything happened," the man said.
The man is seen in the video with his arm extended, gun in hand, walking towards another man.
"I already knew what was going to happen," the man said.
Nine gun shots are heard in the video and a man falls to the ground.
About five seconds later, "security came up behind the dude, like the dude didn't even see it coming," the man said.
Eleven gunshots are heard in the video and the original shooter hits the ground.
One man died at the scene and another was critically injured.
