

An elephant went on a rampage at a mosque in India- Kerala’s Palakkad district, killing its mahout and injuring another person, the police said on Friday. The incident unfolded during a ceremony on Thursday around 10.30 pm at a mosque in the Kootanadu area.
According to eyewitnesses, the elephant named Vallamkulam Narayanan Kutty, attacked his mahout, identified as 42-year-old Kunjumon Ibrahim, during the annual ‘nercha’ ceremony organized to commemorate the saints laid to rest at the Koottanadu Shuhada Makham (mosque).
