Ah, Baltimore—where things just seem to get out of hand at the drop of a hat. Cellphone video captured the absolute masterpiece of chaos before a deadly shooting on Tuesday afternoon. Because, of course, this is how we handle disagreements now.
Police reported that 31-year-old Shy'Keema Turner met her untimely fate just before 6 p.m. in the lovely 700 block of East Preston Street.
The video shows a woman with a gun chasing after someone—who we’re pretty sure is Turner, but hey, who’s counting?
According to one of the many expert witnesses, “The lady grabbed her purse, chased her down the street, shot her.” What a turn of events. And then, of course, the best part—“Everybody left that lady to die on the corner.” Because, why not? It’s not like life has any value when you’ve got a front-row seat to such entertainment.
As if it wasn’t enough, you can hear bystanders cheering the woman on like it's some kind of twisted sports event, followed by the delightful sound of gunshots. And then, as if by some miracle, police arrived to report that Turner was rushed to the hospital where, unsurprisingly, she didn’t make it.
But wait—there’s more! According to another voice of reason (aka a witness), it was all just so much chaos for absolutely no reason. “It was all over nothing, over a boy,” they said. Really? Nothing like a good love triangle to bring out the best in people.
The witness continued to share that people started banging and kicking on a neighbor’s door, demanding a fight—because, of course, that escalated into an all-out street showdown. “It didn’t have to get this far, it really didn’t,” they said, showing us all how easy it is to solve conflict in a peaceful manner.
Oh, and the police? They’ve seen the video and are talking to the usual suspects.
