So apparently regular movie theater seats are officially over, because Bangkok has decided the future of cinema is… beds.
A viral video making the rounds online has people losing their minds over “The Bed Cinema” at SF World Cinema inside CentralWorld in Bangkok. The clip shows moviegoers fully reclined on adjustable beds, stretched out with blankets and pillows, watching Wicked like they’re settling in for the coziest sleepover imaginable.
And yes, it is exactly as luxurious as it sounds.
Tickets run about $36 and cover way more than just the movie. Each booking includes unlimited popcorn in four different flavors, plus snacks and drinks. You also get access to a private lounge area, and the setup works for anywhere from one to four people per bed, making it a popular pick for couples, friends, and anyone who has ever wished they could lie down during a three-hour film.
The Bed Cinema is not actually a brand new thing. SF World Cinema launched the concept back in 2022, and reviews from 2024 and 2025 already rave about how comfortable and immersive it feels.
Instead of stiff chairs and awkward armrest battles, the experience is all about comfort first. Adjustable beds, soft lighting, and plenty of room to relax turn movie night into something closer to a mini staycation.
