The Grammys red carpet turned into a full-blown skin parade Sunday night in Los Angeles, and Chappell Roan made sure all eyes were on her.
The singer, nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, showed up in what might be the boldest look of the night: a custom Mugler outfit that ditched traditional structure altogether. Roan arrived draped in a dramatic burgundy chiffon cape that perfectly matched her fiery red hair — elegant, mysterious, very old Hollywood.
Then she dropped the cape.
Underneath? A barely-there, opaque floor-length skirt that wasn’t held up by straps, clasps, or seams — but by nipple piercings. Yes, really. The skirt hung directly from the piercings, leaving little to the imagination and sending cameras into overdrive.
Skin was clearly the theme of the night, but compared to Roan, everyone else looked almost… modest.
