Two Thieves Try To Steal A Luxury Vehicle In A Driveway, The Owner Used A, Well, Unique Tactic To Scare The Crap Out Of Them

A homeowner in Melbourne just went wildly off script when he scared off two suspected car thieves in a way no one saw coming and the internet cannot stop talking about it.

Security footage from a house in the upscale suburb of Brighton shows the moment things took a bizarre turn after two hooded figures allegedly tried to steal an Audi sedan parked in the driveway.

According to the video, the homeowner was alerted by the sound of the car’s engine starting. Instead of hiding or calling for help first, he immediately charged outside and unleashed what can only be described as pure chaos. Shouting at the top of his lungs, barking like an angry dog, and flailing his arms, he ran straight at the would be thieves.

The reaction was instant.

One of the suspects can be seen scrambling onto the roof of the car in a panic before vaulting over the front fence to escape. Seconds later, the second figure, dressed in a white hoodie, abandoned the driver’s seat and followed, leaping the fence as the car slowly rolled down the driveway unattended.

The footage, later shared by 7News, even appears to capture the homeowner screaming threats as he chased them off, before doubling down on the barking for good measure.

Online viewers are equal parts shocked and impressed. Some are calling it an unhinged but effective home defense strategy, while others say it is proof that unpredictability might just be the ultimate crime deterrent.
