A routine school run turned creepy after a school bus carrying children became locked in a bizarre daytime standoff with a car whose occupants refused to move, prompting the shaken driver to call 911.

The dramatic incident, captured on video and now going viral, shows a 45-foot school bus rounding a narrow road when a car suddenly pulls up nose-to-nose with it and stops dead. With children on board and nowhere to go forward, the bus grinds to a halt.

Crucially, there appears to be ample space behind the car to reverse and clear the road. But the driver doesn’t budge.

Instead, according to the bus driver, the adults inside the car simply sit there — smiling.

With traffic frozen and young passengers watching, the bus driver can be heard dialing emergency services, her voice tense as she explains the situation.

“I’ve got a bus full of kids,” she tells the dispatcher, making clear this is no minor inconvenience.
