A disturbing video circulating online has sparked outrage after a man claimed he caught raw meat being transported to restaurants in a way that many viewers say raises serious food safety concerns.
The footage, filmed in Charlotte, shows what appear to be large quantities of raw meat stacked inside the back of a sport utility vehicle with little visible protection from contamination or temperature exposure.
In the video, the man filming claims the meat was destined for several halal restaurants around the city.
The first recording, described as “Day 1,” shows piles of raw meat packed into thin plastic bags and stacked on top of cardboard boxes inside the open trunk of the SUV. No refrigeration equipment is visible, and the meat appears to be exposed to the ambient air as the vehicle prepares to drive away.
The footage immediately triggered concern among viewers who questioned whether the meat was being transported in accordance with food safety regulations.
“There’s no way this can be sanitary,” the man filming says in the clip as he pans across the stacked bags of raw meat.
But the situation appeared to escalate when the man returned the following day and filmed a second delivery.
In the “Day 2” footage, a delivery truck can be seen with raw meat placed directly across the floor of the vehicle. Unlike the previous day, the meat in this clip appears to have no plastic bagging at all, lying openly inside the truck’s cargo area.
The man behind the camera claims this is the second consecutive day he has observed meat being transported in what he describes as unsanitary conditions.
The videos have since spread rapidly across social media platforms, with viewers debating whether the practices shown would violate food safety standards typically enforced by local health departments.
In the United States, the handling and transportation of raw meat intended for restaurants is normally subject to strict guidelines regarding sanitation, contamination prevention, and temperature control.
Health regulations generally require perishable food products to be kept at safe temperatures during transportation and protected from contamination through sealed containers or appropriate packaging.
It is not immediately clear which restaurants were allegedly receiving the meat or whether any health authorities have launched an investigation into the claims made in the video.
The controversy has also prompted wider questions online about how food destined for restaurants is transported before it reaches kitchens and whether proper oversight is always in place.
For many viewers, however, the reaction has been immediate and visceral.
“If your restaurant’s meat arrived like this,” one commenter wrote, “would you still eat there?”
As the footage continues to circulate, residents in Charlotte are now demanding answers about whether the deliveries shown in the video represent an isolated incident or a larger food safety concern.
