Everyone celebrates their birthday differently.
Some people go out for dinner. Some hit the bars. Some keep it low key with cake and friends.
And then there’s this guy on the internet who apparently decided the best way to celebrate turning another year older was to hire a full-on Velma Dinkley impersonator and have her show up at his house for a private birthday performance.
Because why not.
A viral video posted on X by user oxDessyxo shows the entire setup, and it lasts about 33 seconds, but that’s more than enough time for the internet to collectively raise an eyebrow.
The clip features a Velma cosplayer doing a series of playful, flirty skits inside what looks like a very nice house. She’s wearing the classic Velma look, the orange sweater, the red skirt, the tights, except everything is a little more… form fitting than the Saturday morning cartoon version most people grew up with.
At one point she even does the classic Velma bit where she “loses” her glasses and starts crawling around looking for them, except the whole scene has the energy of something that absolutely would not air on Cartoon Network.
Meanwhile the TV in the background displays a big “Happy Birthday” message, confirming that yes, this was apparently a private birthday booking.
Which leads to the obvious question everyone online is asking.
Who thinks of this?
Because hiring a Velma impersonator for a birthday party is already a pretty specific niche idea. Hiring one for what appears to be a private, one-person show takes it to a whole different level.
Some people think it’s hilarious. Others are saying the whole thing looks suspiciously like the first scene of an adult movie where the pizza delivery guy somehow ends up solving a mystery.
And honestly… they’re not wrong.
Everything about the clip has that slightly scripted vibe, from the exaggerated “Velma lost her glasses” routine to the camera angles that make it feel less like a birthday party and more like the beginning of a very questionable plotline.
But at the end of the day, you’ve got to give the birthday guy some credit.
He didn’t settle for a cake and candles.
He went out and created what might be the most bizarrely specific birthday entertainment idea the internet has seen this week.
