A 73-year-old rapper left fans stunned after he lost consciousness mid-performance while suspended in the air during a concert in Chicago.
Pete Bowditch, one half of the British rap duo Pete & Bas, was performing when the dramatic incident unfolded, with the veteran performer hanging above the stage in a harness before suddenly passing out.
Footage from the show captures the alarming moment as the performance takes a sudden turn, leaving both fans and crew scrambling as it becomes clear something has gone wrong.
It is believed the harness may have cut off circulation, causing Bowditch to lose consciousness while elevated, turning what was meant to be a high-energy stage moment into a medical emergency.
The group’s management company later addressed the incident, reassuring fans that the rapper is now recovering.
“We would like to apologize for last night’s show; the good news is Pete is now in a stable condition,” the statement read.
Concertgoers were issued full refunds following the abrupt end to the performance, as concerns mounted over the shocking on-stage collapse.
Despite the scare, the group is expected to continue their European tour as scheduled, suggesting Bowditch’s condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident has since sparked concern online, with many questioning the safety of complex stage setups, particularly for older performers, after the frightening scene unfolded in front of a live audience.
