A Florida man has gone viral after taking extreme measures to protect his car during a sudden hailstorm, throwing himself on top of the vehicle in a desperate bid to prevent costly damage.
Manny Rosado, from Palm Bay, was caught in a chaotic moment that has since racked up thousands of views on TikTok.
The now-viral clip shows Rosado scrambling onto the roof of his car as heavy hail begins pounding down, turning himself into a makeshift “human shield” while trying to secure a protective cover over his sunroof.
In the footage, he can be seen flailing his legs and struggling to keep his balance as ice pellets rain down, all while attempting to hold the cover in place.
What looks like something straight out of a comedy sketch, however, was no joke for Rosado.
“Yes, it hurt,” he later admitted in a TikTok post, confirming the painful reality behind the viral moment.
Speaking about the ordeal, Rosado explained that the situation escalated quickly.
“Hail was coming down as I was putting a tent over my sunroof in an attempt to protect it from breaking,” he said.
But things didn’t go according to plan.
“I was caught on top of the car stuck while getting hit by the hail,” he added.
The dramatic clip has since sparked a wave of reactions online, with viewers split between admiration for his commitment and disbelief at the lengths he went to save his vehicle.
While his sunroof may have survived, it’s safe to say Rosado paid the price himself, taking the full force of the storm in a moment that’s equal parts painful and unforgettable.
