An 89-year-old grandma accidentally locks herself in her bedroom, no phone, no help, normal people panic and wait it out… not this woman. She decides the logical move is to climb out of a 27th-floor window and just… start scaling the outside of the building like she’s in Mission Impossible.
According to reports, this all went down on April 1. The woman didn’t just edge down a floor or two either. She managed to descend from the 27th floor all the way to the 21st floor, which is six full floors, before finally running out of steam. At 89 years old. Let that sink in for a second.
Eventually, she became too exhausted to keep going and ended up stranded on the outside of the building around the 21st floor. Residents spotted her, which is probably the most surreal thing you could possibly look up and see, and immediately called emergency services.
Firefighters arrived and somehow managed to turn what could have been a nightmare into a clean rescue. They secured her with a safety rope, brought in a multi-functional stretcher, and carefully pulled her back inside through a window. No injuries, no disaster ending, just an absolutely unbelievable story.
Meanwhile, I can barely make it through hot yoga without questioning every life decision I’ve ever made.
