Shocking footage has captured the moment Israeli security forces uncovered dozens of men packed inside a garbage truck’s refuse compactor in what authorities say was an attempt to illegally enter central Israel.
The incident, which took place on April 13, 2026, at the Shomron Crossing, shows officers stopping the vehicle before extracting approximately 60 Palestinian men who had been concealed inside the truck in cramped and dangerous conditions.
Video from the scene reveals the scale of the operation, with security personnel opening the rear of the vehicle and pulling individuals out one by one from the compactor area, where they had reportedly been hiding during the journey.
Authorities say the driver, an Arab-Israeli man from Kafr Qassem, was arrested at the scene along with those discovered inside the truck. All were taken into custody for questioning as part of an ongoing investigation into the suspected smuggling attempt.
Initial reports suggest the group may have been attempting to enter Israel in search of work, with significantly higher wages in sectors such as construction and agriculture often cited as a motivating factor for such crossings.
The method used, however, has drawn particular alarm due to the extreme risks involved. Being confined inside a garbage truck compactor presents serious dangers, including suffocation and injury, raising concerns about the lengths individuals are willing to go in order to cross into Israel.
