The internet found another public-shaming controversy this week after a Turkish waitress posted a video accusing an elderly customer of making her uncomfortable by staring at her while she worked inside a café.
The clip, which quickly went viral online, shows the waitress moving around behind the counter wearing tight, brightly colored pants while an older man sits nearby drinking coffee and occasionally looking in her direction.
Over the course of the 53-second video, the woman repeatedly turns, bends down, and walks around the café while continuing to film the customer from a distance.
She later shared the footage online, claiming she felt uncomfortable because the man kept staring at her while she worked.
But instead of rallying behind her, a huge portion of the internet immediately flipped the criticism back onto the waitress herself.
A lot of people pointed to what they saw as an obvious contradiction: filming yourself in deliberately attention-grabbing clothing, posting the interaction online for millions to watch, then publicly humiliating an elderly guy for looking in your direction inside a public café.
