A Whataburger employee has gone viral after filming herself arguing with her manager over the way she was wearing her work uniform.
The 48-second clip has racked up millions of views across social media after showing the employee confronting her manager about being told to stop wearing her orange polo shirt cropped above the waist.
In the video, the manager can be heard calmly explaining that the employee needs to follow the restaurant’s standard dress code policy and wear the shirt properly while working.
The employee, however, argues that the shirt she was given is too large and says she needs an XXS uniform instead.
She then questions why exposing her stomach is considered a problem, asking:
“How does my stomach harm anybody?”
At another point in the exchange, she suggests that “cuter girls” dressing more revealingly could actually attract more customers to the restaurant.
The manager continues trying to de-escalate the situation, repeatedly telling the employee she simply needs to comply with the uniform rules while on shift.
After being reposted online, the clip quickly sparked major debate in the comments.
Some people defended the employee, arguing that companies should offer better-fitting uniforms and allow workers more freedom over how they present themselves.
Others strongly disagreed, pointing out that restaurants usually have strict dress codes for professionalism, consistency, and hygiene reasons.
