Khamzat Chimaev Just Kicked Sean Strickland In The Middle Of A Face-Off Making UFC 328 Even More Intense
33 days ago
There are normal UFC press conferences. There are chaotic UFC press conferences. And then there’s whatever the hell happened between Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland ahead of UFC 328.
Because apparently simply yelling at each other from six inches away wasn’t enough anymore.
Video from the presser is going viral after Chimaev straight-up launched a kick at Strickland during their face-off, instantly turning the stage into a “every security guard in the building earn your paycheck right now” situation.
And buddy… Strickland looked READY TO COMMIT CRIMES.
The second the kick landed, you could see that look in Sean’s eyes where his brain completely left Earth. Not “angry fighter promoting a pay-per-view” mad. I’m talking “guy yelling at a Home Depot employee in the parking lot at 7:30 AM” mad.
Security immediately swarmed the stage before the whole thing turned into a live-action hockey brawl.
Chimaev is the reigning middleweight champ and one of the most terrifying wrestlers the UFC has seen in years. The guy fights like somebody hit fast-forward on a create-a-fighter career mode. Meanwhile Strickland remains the human embodiment of “what if a podcast comment section learned how to throw jabs.”
And now they somehow hate each other even more.
The title fight goes down May 9 in Newark, and after this stunt there is approximately a zero percent chance these two make it through fight week without another incident.
