Colby Covington Put Lil Pump To Sleep On Stream Even Though The Rapper Clearly Tapped Out Several Times

There are very few things more predictable than MMA fans turning into the Zapruder film investigators anytime somebody gets choked unconscious on camera.
And that’s exactly what happened after UFC welterweight Colby Covington appeared on a livestream with rapper Lil Pump and ended up putting him fully to sleep with a rear-naked choke in a clip now blowing up all over social media.
The video starts off like every combat sports crossover stream does: everybody laughing, talking trash, pretending they want to “learn a move,” and generally acting like professional fighters don’t possess terrifying levels of muscle memory.
Then Covington locks in the choke.
At first, Lil Pump is smiling through it like every guy who’s never grappled before and thinks submissions are basically WWE moves. About five seconds later, reality arrives. Fast.
Within moments, Lil Pump goes limp while people around them start reacting somewhere between “this is hilarious content” and “uhhh maybe we should stop this.”
Naturally, the internet immediately split into two completely predictable camps.
One side is convinced Covington held the choke too long, with people in the replies arguing Lil Pump tapped multiple times before going unconscious. Critics called the whole thing excessive, unnecessary, and a little too aggressive, considering this was supposedly just stream content.
The other side? Basically saying, “Maybe don’t ask a UFC fighter to choke you if you don’t want UFC fighter consequences.”
Which, honestly, is also hard to argue against.
Because one thing combat sports fans learn very quickly is that rear-naked chokes are not fake tough-guy internet stunts. Once it’s locked in properly, the human body starts running out of options in a hurry. There’s a reason fighters tap almost immediately in actual competition.
