Terrifying Moment Man Is Flung Through The Air While Clinging To Roof Torn Off House During Deadly India Storm
26 days ago
A horrifying video captured the moment a man was hurled through the air while desperately clinging to a corrugated metal roof that had been ripped from a building during a deadly storm in northern India.
The shocking footage, which has rapidly spread online, shows the man being carried skyward as violent winds tear apart the roof structure beneath him in Bareilly, a city in Uttar Pradesh.
Moments later, both the roof and the man crash violently back to the ground.
The man in the video has since been identified by local reports as laborer Nanhe Miyan, who was reportedly attempting to secure the roof during the powerful storm when the structure suddenly detached from the building.
Miraculously, he survived.
According to reports, Miyan suffered fractures to his arms and legs after falling an estimated 30 to 50 feet and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The dramatic footage emerged as devastating storms battered large parts of Uttar Pradesh this week, bringing heavy rain, lightning, hailstorms, and powerful dust-filled winds across multiple districts.
Authorities say the extreme weather has left more than 100 people dead and dozens more injured in less than 48 hours.
Many victims were reportedly killed by collapsing walls, uprooted trees, lightning strikes, and electrocution as severe weather swept through densely populated areas.
The viral clip has stunned viewers worldwide because of the sheer scale of the winds involved. In the footage, the metal roofing appears to peel away effortlessly before lifting into the air with the man still gripping onto it.
Online reactions ranged from disbelief to comparisons with scenes from disaster films.
“That looks physically impossible,” one user wrote.
Another commented: “The fact he survived that is unbelievable.”
Meteorologists said the storm system intensified rapidly across the region, creating dangerous conditions that caught many residents off guard.
