A viral doorbell camera video making the rounds online shows a homeowner apparently reaching their breaking point with a neighbor allegedly stealing packages, and deciding to fight back using one of the oldest defensive strategies in human history:
Setting a disgusting trap and waiting for somebody dumb enough to take the bait.
According to the post attached to the video, the homeowner left a Target shopping bag outside the house filled with dog poop after repeatedly dealing with package thefts in the neighborhood.
And sure enough, the alleged thief couldn’t resist.
The footage shows the neighbor casually walking up, grabbing the bag like they just hit the jackpot, and walking off completely unaware that they had essentially stolen a biological weapon disguised as retail merchandise.
Porch pirates have become one of those universal neighborhood problems everyone hates, but nobody really knows how to stop. Security cameras catch them constantly, police usually can’t do much unless the thefts pile up, and people are left watching strangers casually steal packages containing anything from Amazon socks to toothpaste subscriptions.
