Shocking surveillance footage has captured the dramatic rescue of a motorcyclist who was trapped beneath a black SUV after a terrifying collision on a busy Myrtle Beach roadway.
The incident unfolded on Saturday, May 28, 2022, along Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a popular tourist spot packed with beachgoers and traffic.
In the heart-stopping video, a car can be seen slamming into the rear of a motorcycle carrying two riders. The female passenger is violently thrown from the bike, while the male driver is catastrophically pinned underneath the front of the SUV along with the motorcycle.
Within seconds of the crash, a massive crowd of more than two dozen bystanders sprang into action, rushing from all directions to the scene in an incredible display of human compassion.
Myrtle Beach police officers, who were nearby, joined the frantic effort. Together, the group of strangers and law enforcement heaved the heavy vehicle upward, managing to lift it enough to free the trapped rider.
The powerful clip shows the coordinated push as people strain to hold the SUV aloft while others pull the injured man to safety. Emergency responders then rushed in to provide aid.
Miraculously, both the motorcyclist and his passenger survived the ordeal. They were transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Myrtle Beach Police Department praised the heroic response, sharing the video on social media and highlighting the unity shown by citizens and officers."We are lucky to live and work in a community where everyone is ready to work together to help others," the department said.
The footage, which has resurfaced and gone viral once again, has left viewers stunned by both the brutality of the crash and the speed of the rescue.
