Two FedEx workers were captured on security footage nonchalantly destroying what’s believed to be $20,000 in premium lighting and surface equipment, with one guy treating fragile boxes like basketballs while his partner tried to do the job right. The shocking video, obtained by a buddy of X user Linus Ekenstam and posted Tuesday, shows the pair unloading cardboard boxes labeled “Lutron” and “Interlam” outside a warehouse loading dock on May 26.
One worker methodically uses a hand truck to wheel boxes off the truck and stack them carefully. The other? He grabs a massive box, heaves it, and slams it onto the concrete with zero regard, then does it again for good measure.
Lutron is known for its luxury lighting controls and smart-home systems, the kind of high-dollar, delicate gear that doesn’t exactly appreciate being drop-kicked. Interlam products are similarly premium surface materials. One wrong move and thousands in electronics or finishes could be toast.
FedEx, which often relies on independent contractors for ground deliveries, has a long rap sheet of viral mishandling videos going back years. This latest outrage comes as customers already gripe about declining service standards and difficulty getting real humans on the phone for claims.
