A harrowing video shows a man being taken down and bitten by a large brown pit bull-type dog in a Southern California park, while two smaller pugs excitedly circle and yap around the attack.
The raw cellphone footage, which went viral on Friday after being shared on social media, captures the frightening scene unfolding on a sunny day amid palm trees and grassy areas. The victim, wearing a light-colored shirt and dark pants, is on the ground near a paved path, struggling as the muscular brown dog latches on and thrashes.
Bystanders rush in to help. A barefoot woman in a white top and black shorts grabs at the dogs and leashes, while a man in black clothing and a woman in a black “BULLS” jersey-style top join the effort to pull the animals away. The victim eventually gets up with assistance and walks off, appearing shaken but able to move.
Close examination of the clip reveals the primary aggressor is the big brown dog, consistent with a pit bull or bully breed, actively biting and holding onto the man. The two smaller, light-colored pugs bark and dart around the fray, adding to the disorder but not delivering the main attack.
