Are the machines rising up already?A jaw-dropping video out of China has gone mega-viral, showing a humanoid robot decked out in a ridiculous bright blue clown wig delivering a vicious roundhouse kick straight to a little boy's gut, right in front of horrified parents and kids on Children's Day.
The shocking scene unfolded June 1 at the Urumqi Botanical Garden in Xinjiang, where crowds gathered for what was supposed to be a fun tech demo featuring the Unitree G1, a 70-pound powerhouse bot known for its martial arts moves and high-torque joints that can pack a serious punch.
No barriers. No safety zone. Just kids and families standing way too close on a colorful mat as the remote-controlled droid went full kung fu.
Footage shows the bot, looking like a rejected circus act, punching the air, spinning 360 degrees, then unleashing a flying kick that connected squarely with the young boy's stomach. The child instantly doubled over, clutching his midsection before crumpling to the ground in pain.
The robot stumbled back for a second, almost like it realized what it did, then kept right on with its routine as if nothing happened. Staff? They were nowhere to be found at first, drawing furious complaints from parents who said no one rushed to help the kid.
Thankfully, the boy wasn't seriously hurt; doctors checked him out and gave the all-clear. But his family was livid over the lack of an immediate response or apology from park officials.
