Two smirking sisters and their pal were hauled off in handcuffs, flashing sickening smiles and goofing off like it was just another day, after cops say they viciously stabbed a 32-year-old mother of five to death in broad daylight in Del Rio, Texas.

The shocking attack unfolded Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of East 10th Street — right near a busy Sonic drive-through on one of the border town’s main roads.
Peña, a devoted mom to five kids, including a 17-year-old son, was stabbed multiple times and rushed to Val Verde Regional Medical Center just after 2 p.m. She was later airlifted to a San Antonio hospital but succumbed to her injuries around 9 p.m.Friends described the bubbly, tattooed mom as a fighter who was still standing her ground even as she bled. One pal, Christina Salinas, missed a call from Peña just minutes before the attack and later rushed to the hospital to say goodbye.“She was a great mom,” loved ones said. “Born for motherhood.”
Cops used surveillance video, physical evidence, and witness interviews to crack the case fast. By around 4 p.m. Thursday, officers had zeroed in on the Diaz sisters at their home.
Bodycam and bystander footage captured the arrests, and the jaw-dropping behavior that has left viewers stunned.
Kitty Mia Diaz, barefoot and wearing tight black shorts and a revealing halter top featuring an illustration of white hands cupping breasts, grinned at the ground as she was led to a patrol car. She giggled, flashed her pearly whites for the camera, and sarcastically yelled “Stop recording!” at independent journalist Michael Elizondo, who was filming the scene.
“That girl was in a happy mood… She was all smiling, goofing off like nothing happened,” Elizondo told media outlets.
After Cookie was placed in a cruiser, she stuck her face out the window, stuck out her tongue and continued clowning around, according to the footage.
The third suspect, Kyandra Renee Faz, was picked up shortly afterward.
All three women were booked into the GEO Correctional Facility, where they remain pending their first court appearances. No motive has been released by Del Rio police, who are continuing their investigation.
Peña’s devastated friends and family are left picking up the pieces, five young children now without their mother.
The cold-blooded nature of the daylight stabbing on a busy street, and the brazen, smiling demeanor of the accused during their arrests has sent shockwaves through the small Texas border community.
