A Florida bartender tried to dance her way out of a DUI bust, and the results were a total flop.

Amy Harrington, 38, of Madeira Beach, rear-ended another vehicle on Gulf Boulevard in Pinellas County just before 10:30 p.m. on April 27, 2022. Deputies who responded said she had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on her feet. They also smelled alcohol on her breath and spotted an open container in her car.

When it came time for the standard field sobriety tests, Harrington didn’t walk the line. She danced it.

The Pinellas County deputy’s bodycam captured the 38-year-old bartender breaking into full Irish jig moves and ballet pirouettes along the yellow line like it was her personal stage.

“Oh my God! You sound like my f***ing ballet coach,” Harrington snapped when the deputy told her to follow instructions, according to the footage.

She kept twirling and jigging for nearly eight minutes, ignoring repeated commands. At one point she told the deputy the instructions were “ridiculous” and begged to go home.“If you’re going to arrest me, just do it now,” she said.

Cops weren’t impressed by the performance. Harrington was placed in handcuffs and hit with charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to testing.

This wasn’t her first run-in. She was previously arrested in Pinellas County in 2019 for refusing a breath test.

The wild bodycam clip, first released by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office in 2022, is blowing up again on social media, with viewers stunned by Harrington’s creative (and failed) attempt to prove she was sober.“Officers were not impressed by her performance,” one post summed it up.

Harrington, who has worked as a bartender in the St. Petersburg area, learned the hard way that Irish dancing and ballet don’t count as passing a sobriety test.

The footage ends with her being led away in cuffs, no encore required.
