Drone footage circulating widely online shows more than 150 Amish men from the tight-knit communities of Clymer and Sherman, New York, lifting an entire barn off its foundation and carrying it hundreds of feet to a new concrete pad, all in less than five minutes, and without a single piece of heavy machinery.
The remarkable move took place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Chautauqua County. Aerial video captured by the Slab City YouTube channel shows the men lining up shoulder-to-shoulder around the structure, taking coordinated steps under the direction of a clear leader, and smoothly walking the building into place as if it weighed nothing.
Spectators gathered along the roadside to watch the spectacle. The men, many wearing traditional straw hats and work clothes, executed the relocation with military-like precision. A quick adjustment was made near the end, and within minutes the barn sat perfectly on its new foundation.
