A terrified little boy turned a routine trip to the dentist into a full-blown chase after making a desperate dash for freedom rather than face having a tooth pulled.CCTV footage from a dental clinic in Qingdao, Shandong province, China, captures the dramatic moment the youngster bolted from the examination room in pure panic.
Wearing a bright red top, the child can be seen sprinting through the waiting area with surprising speed, tiny hands struggling to shove open the glass doors before bursting out into the hospital grounds.
Medical staff, some already laughing at the sheer determination of their young patient, immediately gave chase.
The boy made it all the way into the car park before the pursuing team finally caught up with him. Undeterred by his protests, they scooped him up and carried the wriggling youngster back inside to complete the procedure.
One clip shows staff gently but firmly bringing him back through the doors, smiles on their faces despite the chaos. In the end the team used bedsheets to help restrain him so the extraction could be carried out safely.
The hilarious yet heart-wrenching footage, which first emerged in March, has since gone viral online, with viewers split between sympathy for the terrified child and amusement at his bold escape bid.
