Disturbing Video Shows Pit Bull Attack 1-Year-Old Boy’s Leg In Union Square, Bystanders Force It Off After Mom’s Desperate Screams

A vicious pit bull sank its teeth into a 1-year-old boy’s leg on a crowded Manhattan sidewalk and refused to let go, leaving the toddler with a gaping wound as horrified bystanders scrambled to free him.

The attack unfolded around 11:10 a.m. on a Sunday outside the Santander Bank at East 13th Street and Broadway in Union Square. Video captured the black-and-white dog clamping down hard on the child’s left leg while a woman, believed to be the boy’s mother, frantically tried to pull the animal off and begged for help.“Call the police. Someone pull him off! Someone please,” she can be heard pleading in the footage.

Several good Samaritans jumped in. One repeatedly kicked the dog. Another put the powerful animal in a headlock. The dog’s owner yanked on the leash, but the pit bull, identified by police sources as a 2-year-old named Disco Bubba, held on tight.

The canine finally released its grip after a man grabbed it by the private parts from behind.“Brother, that’s crazy,” a man filming the chaos said. “Oh my God. There is a hole in his f–king leg, bro. There is a hole in that boy’s leg.”

Medics rushed the toddler to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was treated for multiple deep lacerations and needed a lot of stitches. He was listed in stable condition.

The boy’s father later told police he had been picking up his son when the child’s leg swung in front of the dog’s mouth, triggering the bite.

Meanwhile, the dog’s owner calmly walked away with Disco Bubba and waited at a nearby bus stop as people called the NYPD. Police said the owner faces no criminal charges.The child’s uncle said the family planned to pursue other avenues to have the dog euthanized, calling it dangerous that the animal was still walking around.

The owner has previously posted Instagram photos of the dog, once calling him “Big Disco aka world’s best watch dog” and “man’s best friend.”
