The dramatic clip, filmed on 3 August in Zhaotong, Yunnan province in southwest China, shows the pair driving along a scenic but precarious stretch of highway bordered by steep green hillsides and yellow safety barriers.
In an instant, huge boulders and debris come tumbling down the slope, slamming onto the road in a cloud of thick dust and sending rocks bouncing across the tarmac.
The motorcyclist, riding just ahead or alongside the white sedan, powers straight through the chaos and emerges unscathed on the other side. The white car is less fortunate – rocks smash into its rear, crumpling the back end – yet somehow the vehicle keeps moving forward.
Local reports and international coverage confirm the white car sustained significant damage to its rear section. The driver escaped without injury while a passenger suffered only light wounds. The motorcyclist got away completely unharmed.
