A Toronto diner tried the oldest trick in the book, eat first, pay never, and found out the hard way that breakfast isn’t free.
Video circulating Thursday shows a woman parked at an Eggsmart table with a half-eaten plate, a takeout box, and a tiny fluffy dog in her lap. On-screen text warns other restaurant owners: “If you see this lady, she eats and won’t pay.”She doesn’t look like she’s in a hurry to settle up. She sits. She talks. She points. The dog just stares.
Then the uniforms walk in.
Two officers, a male and a female from a GTA regional police service, approach the table. Within seconds, she’s being walked toward the door. The little dog trots after her like this is just another walk. Staff lingers by the glass as she’s escorted outside.
Eggsmart is a Canadian breakfast-and-brunch chain with locations across the GTA. The video doesn’t name the exact store, but the branding and Toronto tag are unmistakable.
Police have not issued a public statement identifying the woman or saying whether she was charged with theft of services. In Ontario, skipping a restaurant bill can be treated as fraudulently obtaining food, not a cute life hack.
