A 21-second clip making the rounds Monday shows the 68-year-old in black lingerie rolling, crawling and roaring at the camera while Charli XCX and Julia Garner work the same bed. Charli is in a black bra and jeans, flipping off the lens. Garner is in a white slip, arms up like she just won something. Madonna is on her hands and knees, hair a wreck, mouth open, grinding through the leftover adrenaline of a seven-trophy night.
This is not a concert. It is a hotel room. The sheets are already wrecked. Friends sit on the floor and watch the Queen of Pop perform “still got it” for an audience that does not need convincing — and for a camera that is not doing her any favors.
Hours earlier, she opened the show for the first time in 23 years, collected Artist of the Year and reminded everyone she can still command a stage. Fine. That is work.
