Spike Lee nearly went nuclear in the Legends Suite before first pitch.

The 69-year-old director had to be physically held back from going after a fan while dining pregame at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night, as the Yankees prepared to face the Red Sox in Game 2 of their AL wild-card series.

Video circulating from the dining room shows Lee, in a red Yankees cap and team gear, on his feet amid the white-tablecloth chaos, plates of steak, fries and drinks still on the table, as staff and nearby patrons close in around him.

According to people close to the table and FOX Sports reporter Andy Slater, the fan was filming Lee while he ate and asked how he felt about Palestine. One person requesting a selfie then asked Lee to say “F–k Palestine.” That was the spark.

Lee got up, sought out security and went after the unidentified fan.“Why’d you come over to me?” an agitated Lee shouted as staff restrained him.

A man in a blue sport jacket pointed toward a nearby table and made the call: “You’ve gotta go. You’ve gotta go.” The fan was ejected.

Lee had walked into the suite around 6:30 p.m. in a good mood, taking selfies, leaving extra seats at his table for anyone who wanted to sit. The meal did not stay friendly.

The “Do the Right Thing” filmmaker is a fixture at New York sports events and was behind the Yankees dugout for Game 1 on Tuesday, posting a photo with his daughter Satchel. He has also been outspoken on Palestine, including courtside appearances in pro-Palestine attire.

Neither Lee’s representatives nor the Yankees immediately returned requests for comment.

Playoff baseball in the Bronx. A celebrity in the suite. A camera in his face. A political question over dinner. It took seconds for the night to go sideways.
