Streamer JasonTheWeen’s romantic beach date in Los Angeles turned into a pumpkin-hurling nightmare when a stranger accused him of “quoting my thoughts” and launched the seasonal gourd straight at his head.

The FaZe Clan streamer, known online as JasonTheWeen, was live on a late-night picnic around 1 a.m. in September 2024 when the bizarre confrontation unfolded. He and his date, identified in the stream as Mariah, had set up a blanket on the sand with candles, wine bottles, snacks, art supplies, and pumpkins placed around the edges for decoration. The pair were painting hearts on canvases in what started as a low-key, wholesome setup.

A man approached from the darkness. According to the stream audio and Jason’s later recounting, the stranger confronted him, saying something to the effect of “Why the f—k did you quote my thoughts when I walked by you?” Jason repeatedly told him he had the wrong person and tried to de-escalate, at one point smiling and saying “relax” because he initially thought it might be a joke or a stream sniper.

Instead, the man grabbed one of the pumpkins from the picnic setup and threw it at Jason’s head. The impact was captured on the live stream. Jason later said the pumpkin hit him, though he was not seriously injured. The camera cut or the scene went dark amid the chaos as the pair reacted. Chat exploded with viewers yelling for him to fight back, but Jason and his date focused on getting clear of the situation.

In post-incident discussion on stream, Jason described the man as appearing agitated and possibly under the influence. He noted the stranger had paint on his shirt and was talking nonsense before escalating. “He picked the pumpkin up and threw it at my cranium,” Jason said, adding that he chose not to engage further because “you don’t one-v-one a crackhead with nothing to lose.”

He and Mariah confirmed everyone was safe afterward, though the date was effectively over. Jason later joked about needing security for 1 a.m. beach outings and said he thought the whole thing was a prank until the pumpkin flew.

The clip spread quickly across X, TikTok, and YouTube, with titles calling it an “attack” during an IRL date stream. Jason has retold the story multiple times since, including to other creators, describing the picnic setup, the sudden accusation, and the pumpkin throw. Viewers and fellow streamers have clipped and reacted to it for months, often highlighting the absurdity of a decorative gourd becoming a projectile.

Los Angeles beaches have long been a backdrop for both influencer content and random late-night encounters. In this case, the combination of a live-streamed date, seasonal decorations, and an unprovoked confrontation produced one of the more memorable streamer clips of the period, less a traditional crime story than a snapshot of how quickly a quiet night out can go sideways when a stranger decides a pumpkin is the right response to an imagined slight.
