A routine Uber pickup turned into a tense standoff when a female passenger refused to confirm the name on the booking, and then flatly refused to exit the vehicle even after the driver ordered her out.

Dashcam footage from the New York-area ride shows the driver, wearing a green Puma shirt, repeatedly asking the woman in the back seat for the name associated with the trip. She replied that a man had ordered the Uber for her and that she did not know the name on the account.

“The man just ordered the thing Uber. Can you call him then?” she said. “I didn’t order the Uber.”

When the driver pressed the issue and told her to get out, the passenger dug in.

“No, I’m not getting out,” she insisted. “He’s paid for it. I’m not getting out. Then you’re gonna reimburse him for his money cause I’m not getting out. … The money was spent on it so I’m not getting out. Then call the cops then.”

She later placed a call to the person who booked the ride and put him on speaker so the driver could hear. On the call, she recounted that the driver was angry because she could not provide the booking name and was demanding she leave, while she maintained that the ride had already been paid for and she was staying put to go home.

“He’s telling me to get out the car because he’s asking me what was the name of the Uber and I’m telling him I don’t know, call the man,” she explained to the booker. “I didn’t order the Uber. So he’s getting mad and telling me to get out the car and I’m telling him I’m not getting out the car because it was already paid for.”

The passenger repeatedly told both the driver and the person on the phone that she would not exit and that any resolution would require the police. She emphasized she had not been physical with the driver and that the conflict stemmed solely from her refusal to leave a paid trip.

Uber generally advises drivers to confirm passenger names as a safety step to ensure they are picking up the correct rider and to reduce risks from mismatched bookings or potential scams. In this case, the inability to verify the name led the driver to halt the trip and demand the passenger leave, while she treated the already-paid fare as her ticket to stay.

The roughly two-minute clip ends with the woman still in the car, continuing the phone call and insisting the driver has limited options because the booking was already completed. The footage does not show whether police were ultimately contacted or how the impasse was resolved.
