Reports indicate the shooting occurred during or shortly after a custody visit that included a stop at McDonald’s. Some relatives told local outlets that past custody issues had existed but were believed to have been resolved. No motive has been publicly identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.NY Post
Family members described the boys as joyful and innocent. In a Facebook post, relatives wrote: “On October 11, 2026, our beloved Jimmy and Osmani left this world, leaving an immense void in our hearts. An aunt, Maria Lopez, told NBC Los Angeles the children were “so sweet, really good kids.” A family friend added that they “never did anything wrong to anyone” and “were always happy.” Relatives have asked for donations to help cover funeral costs and have placed flowers and mementos at the scene.NY Post
