A previously banned customer went full demolition derby on a beloved Salt Lake City boba shop, hurling chairs, smashing displays and turning the place into a sticky disaster zone after staff laughed at her, forcing the owners to shut down early.

Security footage from Sunny Honey, a bright and quirky locally owned boba and desserts joint at 535 N 300 W, captures the chaos as the unidentified woman storms back into the store, yanks items off the counter, sends furniture flying, and leaves yellow liquid and debris scattered across the floor.

It all started weeks earlier over a cup. The same woman got into it with staff after the shop stopped pouring extra-large drinks into shorter cups. She allegedly threatened workers, swiped their iPad, damaged register items and bolted when police were called, according to accounts circulating with the video.

This time, employees told her to leave immediately. Instead, she went on a destructive tear, knocking over decor, spilling drinks and trashing the cheerful space known for its giant customizable milk-tea “buckets,” house-made panna cotta jellies (including Labubu-themed ones), and playful aesthetic.

“Someone came into our shop and completely trashed it and threatened our team. We had no choice but to close early while we dealt with the situation,” the shop said in a statement. “As a small business, it’s incredibly difficult to see a space we’ve poured so much time, love, and hard work into treated this way. When things are broken like this, the cost of repairs comes straight out of the business.”

Exactly what set her off this round remains murky, though she was heard complaining about staff laughing. She fled before police could identify her.

Sunny Honey, owned by Cassie, who came from Vietnam, has built a following for its oversized drinks and cute vibe. Now the owners are left picking up the pieces, and the bill.

The clip has exploded online, with viewers calling out the impact on small businesses and urging anyone who recognizes the woman to come forward. Police had not publicly named a suspect as of the video’s spread on Thursday.
