Hollywood’s favorite tough-guy actor just dropped a jaw-dropping line that has the internet losing its mind, and the lie detector machine right along with it.

In a resurfaced 2018 Vanity Fair polygraph video promoting his action flick Mile 22, Mark Wahlberg was strapped to the machine and hit with a series of rapid-fire questions. When the interviewer finally got to “security,” things took a sharp turn.

“Are you an agent of the Israeli government?” the host asked.

Without missing a beat, Wahlberg fired back: “I have affiliates in the Mossad, yes.”

The interviewer let out a laugh and called it “Good one, Mark”, but the next question didn’t go so smoothly.

“Have you ever been involved in acts of espionage?”

“No,” Wahlberg answered.

The polygraph chart immediately showed a reaction. The interviewer called it out on the spot: “You’re feeling a little uncertain over there, my friend.”

Wahlberg tried to play it cool when asked if he could be trusted, replying, “Yeah, in this situation.” Later, when pressed on whether he had lied at any point in the entire interview, he admitted he might not have told “the complete whole truth and nothing but the truth… maybe not to offend.”

The clip, originally posted by Vanity Fair on August 17, 2018, was meant as light promotional content for the spy thriller. But a new wave of online attention has turned the Mossad quip and the polygraph spike into must-watch footage all over again. Viewers are zeroing in on Wahlberg’s delivery, the machine’s reaction, and his careful follow-up answers.

In the full video, Wahlberg also joked about being mistaken for Matt Damon, claimed he never hangs out with co-stars, and bragged about his workout routine before the security section even began. The entire segment lasts under 10 minutes, yet the final two minutes have become the part everyone is clipping and sharing.

Whether it was pure comedy for a movie promo or something that made the needle jump for a reason, the video has Hollywood watchers and online sleuths talking. One thing’s clear: Marky Mark just gave the internet another reason to hit replay.
