Heidi Klum Hands Halloween Her Most Grotesque Costume Yet As Bloody Severed Limb At 25th Annual Party

Supermodel Heidi Klum, the self-crowned Queen of Halloween, outdid herself Saturday night at her 25th annual bash, arriving at Cathédrale in the East Village encased in a towering, blood-soaked replica of her own severed left hand.⁠

The 53-year-old “Project Runway” star stepped out of a truck plastered with red “DANGER” signs and was lowered onto the blue carpet by a crew of actors in yellow hazmat suits, the giant prosthetic limb balanced on massive fingers tipped with glossy oxblood nails. Her head emerged from the center of the palm through a nightmarish face carved into the skin, weeping eyes, exposed tissue, and a gaping mouth, while the severed wrist exploded in dangling tendons, veins, and dripping gore.⁠

“Literally, my left hand inspired me,” Klum told E! News on the carpet. “I looked at my hand and I was thinking, ‘How can I fit my body into this hand?’ There must be a way… Two legs could fit into fingers and the body in my palm, and it did work.” It took six hours to get her into the suit on the night, after a team led by special-effects artist Mike Marino (an Emmy winner for “The Penguin”) spent months building it from body scans of her actual hand — down to the veins, palm lines, her green-stone wedding ring, and the “Tom” tattoo she got on her wedding day for husband Tom Kaulitz.⁠

Marino called it “one of the most elaborate costumes ever made.” Klum quipped that it took “many hands doing this hand.” Daughter Leni, 22, spotted the ring immediately: “I love that she added her wedding ring onto the costume. I think it’s sick.” Kaulitz himself was on tour and missed the party, but Klum said “a little bit of Tom is with me.”⁠

The party, presented by Apothic and Butterfinger, doubled down on the blood theme, limited-edition Apothic x Heidi Klum Type ‘A’ Blood Bags were served, matching her earlier promise that this year’s look would be “very, very bloody” and “goes very well with red wine.”⁠

This is the same woman who has previously transformed into a giant earthworm, a full peacock, E.T., and last year’s snake-haired Medusa (with Kaulitz as a stone soldier). She has been teasing the 2026 look for weeks with close-ups of fleshy prosthetics that looked like organs or sea creatures, keeping fans guessing until the reveal.⁠

Hands down, the hardest part was carrying it, “It’s quite heavy,” she admitted. But as the undisputed champion of celebrity Halloween, Klum once again proved that when it comes to going all out, nobody does it better. Or bloodier.
