A police ride-along video captures a woman whose car broke down, but instead of simply dealing with the tow, she repeatedly ignored the responding officer, walked away from the vehicle in the roadway, and then called 911 multiple times to complain about the deputy who was already on scene trying to assist.

The interaction begins with an officer approaching the woman standing by her car.

Officer: Excuse me. Hello.
Woman: Hi.
Officer: What are you doing?
Woman: My car broke down.
Officer: Okay, so why aren't you talking to me when I'm trying to talk to you?
Woman: My car broke down.
Officer: Okay, so why are you ignoring me and getting back in the car?
Woman: I'm not ignoring you. My car broke down.
Officer: I understand that. I'm trying to help you get it out of the road.
Woman: You can't do anything.
Officer: Yes, I can. Excuse me. Continue with the attitude and I'll tow your car myself right now.
Woman: Okay, excuse me. You can do that. Excuse me.
Officer: Okay, I'll tow it. I was gonna help you push it off the road.

The woman then called 911 while officers were already present, describing the deputy as “really rude” and claiming she “walked up to my car screaming.”

Dispatcher: Hi, so my car right now is getting towed by the police. Do you have an address or an intersection this is occurring at?
Woman: Well, you guys already are on the call, so you should have it yourself. It was this woman and she was really rude. She walked up to my car screaming.
Dispatcher: So she didn't give you a agency that she said she was working for.
Woman: Looks like she woke up ready to beat somebody's ass today.
Dispatcher: Well, maybe. It sounds like you're being very confrontational, so that's why I'm trying to assist you.
Woman: No, I wasn't. Where is— where do I pick up my car? You guys need to call the car already.
Dispatcher: I don't know, ma'am, because I don't know what agency assisted you, so that's what I'm trying to figure out.
Woman: All right, I'm gonna hang up until I get somebody that has a brain cell left.
Dispatcher: Okay, ma'am, you do that.

Officers later addressed her continued 911 calls while the car remained in the roadway with its hazards on.

Officer: If you don't stop, you're gonna go to jail for misuse of 911, so at least be an adult. Stop and talk to us.
Woman: My car broke down.
Officer: Okay, so we've got your car out of the road. That's no big deal. But why do you keep calling 911?
Woman: To figure out where my car was going.
Officer: Well, if you stayed with your car, you'd be there when the tow truck came, and you can even ride with them.
Woman: Okay.
Officer: We're just waiting for a tow truck. When the tow truck gets here, you can go with your car.
Woman: Okay, I'm gonna call an Uber instead. That's cool.
Officer: Okay, but do you want to be there when the tow truck comes to at least find out where it is?
Woman: No. Okay. I can find out by calling the people that towed it.
Officer: Yeah, do you know who's towing it? I don't know who's towing your car. So we gave her the option of waiting for the tow truck. She doesn't want to do that either, so—
Woman: So I can wait for the tow truck.
Officer: No, that's okay. We're past that now. So what am I being arrested for? Misuse of 911.
Woman: How did I misuse 911?
Officer: You called multiple times when there was a deputy here on scene. You weren't really needed to call 911 for him.
Woman: My car is being towed and I wanted to know—
Officer: Right, because you left it right in the middle of the road.
Woman: Because it has, it has its hazards on.
Officer: Well, that's not the problem. The problem is when the deputy showed up to help you, you apparently decided you didn't want to talk to her, so you just left your car in the middle of the road. So we're happy to get a wrecker for you. We're— I mean, we'll help you any way we can.
Woman: I don't need your help.
Officer: But what you can't do is continuously call 911.
Woman: Okay, to find out where my car was going to be towed to.
Officer: Well, I gave you that option as well and you didn't want to exercise it, so we're, we're done talking now.
Officer: Hold on. Have a seat, young lady.
Woman: Okay, I am. Let go of me.

The woman was ultimately arrested for misuse of 911 after leaving her disabled vehicle in the roadway, declining the option to wait for the tow truck she had arranged, and continuing to call emergency dispatch while officers were already on scene attempting to resolve the situation. The clip, shared from Fountain of Money ride-along footage and later posted by AkademiksTV with the caption “Dumb as a box of rocks,” quickly circulated for the circular responses and the decision to repeatedly call 911 rather than stay with the car or simply wait for the wrecker.
