Dramatic footage of "biblical disaster" Greek floodwaters that have killed 15 people show cars and lorries floating away

Dramatic video footage shows cars floating down the road and motorists wading thick red water in flash floods which have left at least 15 people dead in Greece.

The Twitter post by Ioanna Zitou appears to show the desperate motorists clinging to bushes on a verge by the side of the road.

They may have escaped from the vehicles just before they were inundated in the torrential flood waters .

It also shows cars in the motorway which may have been abandoned, while dozens gather on the slip roads to see the power of the raging torrent.

Meanwhile footage from Nikos Dioletis shows a huge column of water raging through the streets.
